Help is one email away.

Most issues are solved in a minute with the steps below. If not, email me with what you saw. Tacet is maintained by one person, so you will hear back from the developer, not a ticket queue.

Quick fixes

  1. Reload the Facebook tab

After installing or updating Tacet, tabs that were already open need a reload before the content script runs.

  2. Check the master switch and pause state

Open the popup. If the status shows Paused or the master toggle is off, Tacet is intentionally standing by.

  3. Use per-tab pause to isolate the problem

If Facebook looks wrong, pause Tacet on that tab. If the problem disappears, it is on Tacet's side; please tell me.

  4. Try Safe mode

Settings → Overview → Safe mode stops all hiding without changing anything else. If Facebook looks right again, tell me what was hidden and I will fix the detector.

Write to support@gettacet.com. Include your browser and version, the Tacet version, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot of the popup's Hidden items list helps more than anything.

Please do not send screenshots that include private messages or other personal information.

Keep Tacet going

Tacet is free and made by one person. Facebook changes its page almost every week to get adverts past tools like this one, and keeping up takes real time. If Tacet earns you a calmer feed, a coffee keeps it going: buymeacoffee.com/tacet. Tacet never asks inside Facebook itself, only here and in its own settings.

Known limitations

  • Facebook changes its page structure frequently. Detection may lag behind a redesign until an update is released. During that time Tacet shows content rather than guessing.
  • Features that depend on unstable Facebook markup, such as preferring the most-recent feed or comment sorting, are applied only when they can be detected safely.
  • The Element Picker is experimental. Rules it creates may need re-picking after a Facebook redesign; the rule health indicator will tell you.
  • Mobile apps are not supported. Tacet runs on the desktop website only.
